The U.S. Open the last of the four major tennis events of the year that takes place from August 31st until September 13th, in NYC. In the 2020 U.S. Open, mixed doubles will not be held due to Covid-19. There are singles and doubles for both single and doubles, as well as wheelchair tennis. Final of the women’s main draw will be held on Saturday September 12, and the finals for the men will be held on Sunday September 13.

Former U.S. Open champion and former world number 1 will face off unseeded, but former grand slam champion Victoria Azarenka, who defeated legendary, Serena William for the first time in a major.

On the men’s side, (Play Tonight) will face (Play Tonight), in the finals on Sunday. _______ is the ____ in this tournament. And _______is the ___ seed. Both of these players have never won a grand slam before, so this will be a very exciting match to watch.

One of the big stories in this years U.S. open on the men’s side of the draw, is that the world number one, and the expected winner of this tournament, Novak Djokavic was deflated after unintentionally hitting one of the lie judges in the neck after getting broken by the Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta.  Medics immediately rush onto the court to attend to her, after she had fallen on the ground while having trouble breathing. Djokoivic also rushing over to check and see if she was okay. Medics immediately removed her mask to make it easier for her to breath. After minutes of discussing, the tournament and the umpire decided that she could not return and that Djokovic would not be able to return as well. Additionally, Djkavic will not get any points for this incident, nor will he be gifted any prize money, and will be fined an additional $10,000. The 17 time grand slam champion later posted on social media saying that his situation has left me sad and empty. Many people around the world have already said that this was his chance for him to regain his image, after the Serbian and his wife tested positive for covid-19 after also being seen with some other professionals not showing any sign of social distancing, and having the time of their lives when they should have been stuck at home.
