We all know that skiing and snowboarding are sports. Some of us think that they are the best sports. I am one of those people who think that skiing and snowboarding are the best sports. Why are they the best sports? Well, it is definitely the best sport because it gets your heart rate up. Skiing does many other things, but we will get into that later. You might be thinking to yourself, “Running gets your heart rate up too!” If you are thinking that, you are right. Running does get your heart rate up. But you may also be wondering, “How does skiing get your heart rate up?” Well, according to Chillfactore, “A closer look at data also revealed an average heart rate of 130BPM during ski and snowboard lessons, showing that the short, spurts of energy produced do increase your heart rate – a surefire way to boost fitness levels.” This shows that you do get your heart rate up when skiing. 

 

What else does skiing do? Skiing also gets you outside. Being outside is SO healthy for you! If you are cooped up inside, then you will never get to explore what is beyond four walls and a roof. Being outside is also great for your mental health. My mom always says that my dad is happier at higher elevations! You could run outside, but is running really that fun? I don’t think so. Rather, skiing is so much fun! People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to go skiing here, in the rocky mountains. I mean, we might as well take advantage of our location. We are only two hours away from great skiing!
