Belize is a nation on the eastern coast of Central America. It is in Central Standard Time, which means if you are traveling from Denver, Colorado to Belize, you won’t have to worry about recovering from jet lag. Belize offers a beautiful barrier reef, amazing marine life, and clear, glistening oceans. 

The Belize barrier reef is located about 300 meters offshore in the north and 40 kilometers in the south. The Belize barrier reef is approximately 300km long and is a part of the Mesoamerican barrier reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Marine life in Belize includes West Indian manatees, whale sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, sting rays, manta rays, dolphins, and lionfish.

In Belize, scuba diving, especially in the Blue Hole, is a very big tourist attraction. The Blue Hole is an underwater sinkhole, and it is believed to be the biggest of its kind. It is about 410 feet deep and full of beautiful caverns, colors, and marine life. Other fun activities Belizean activities include visiting Belize’s national wonders. One of Belieze’s most prized national wonders includes Xunantunich. Xunantunich is an ancient Maya archeological site located in western Belize. It is about 70 miles west of Belize City. Xunantunich is located atop a ridge above the Mopan River and .6 miles west of the Guatemala border.
