The Rookie of the Year Award can be a challenging debate in the NBA. So who is most likely to win this year? The frontrunner candidate to win Rookie of the Year is Paolo Banchero, the former first overall pick who averages 20.00 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, and 3 assists.

Next is Benedict Mathurin, sixth overall pick who puts up 16.7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Third is Jaden Ivey, with 15.4 points per game 3.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. Paolo Banchero who is on the Orlando Magic is the favorite.  People debate about who should win it based on their performance and which team they are on. for example, the Orlando Magic fans would say Paolo Banchero. 

People debate why the rookies should be named Rookie of the Year because of their potential and play.   If one player averages more it wouldn’t matter because of the other player’s efficiency on the court.  In my opinion I think Bennedict Mathurin should have won based on this years proformance
