Spirit days at school

Jacqueline Hernandez, Author

Spirit day is something that most schools do for fun. Spirit day is something schools do for students that are encouraged to follow the topic that they are assigned to. A day in the week students are welcomed to dress up as the topic that they are assigned to. A typical spirit day is “pajama day,” Pajama day is when students and staff get to come to school in their sleepwear. Another spirit day is wearing school colors, students are allowed to wear the main colors of their school.

McAuliffe has had spirit days throughout the year. Some of the spirit days that McAuliffe has done is wearing a team’s jersey, another of the spirit days that McAuliffe has had is college day, students get to wear something that represents a college. Students have also been encouraged to participate in “twin day.” Twin day is spirit day that students get to match one another with a topic or a certain clothes wear.

One of the most recent spirit days that McAuliffe has had is “80’s day.” 80’s day is based on students dressed like they were in 1980. When walking to class you saw bright and colorful clothes which looked fun and made the school environment fun for the students.

This spirit day was for the yearbook! There will be some pictures of students dressed as if they were in the 80s.
