LeBron James Breaking The All-Time Scoring Record

Brayden Dirst, Author

On Feb 7, 2023, LeBron James broke the all-time scoring record with 38,388 points which was previously held for 38 years by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Even though the Los Angeles Lakers lost 133-130 to the Thunder, LeBron scored 38 points to get the record. The Lakers are fighting for a playoff spot to have a chance for a championship run. But LeBron breaking the record will be a moment nobody will forget for a long time.

LeBron James grew up in Akron, Ohio where he was born on December 30, 1984, he is now 38 years old. LeBron’s childhood was tough because he was raised by a single mother, and he lived in a foster home for some time. By 8 years old he had moved about 10 times, LeBron said in an interview. In high school, James was one of the most hyped basketball prospects ever because he averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game. James has a 1 billion dollar net worth which would make him join two other sports players Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan in that category.

In the 2003 draft class, he was picked number 1 by the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron has played for the Cavaliers, Heat, and Lakers. So far in his career, LeBron has averaged 27.2  points, 7.3 assists, and 7.5 rebounds per game. LeBron has exceeded everyone’s expectations by not only being one of the greatest basketball players ever but by breaking the all-time scoring record.
