On Thursday, November 10, 2022, two TikTok comedians have been whipped in public in Nigeria for making a video, a court in the northern Kano State ruled that had defamed the state Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, according to a judicial spokesperson.
Mubarak Isah Muhammad, 26, and Nazifi Muhammad Bala, 23, each received 20 lashes for defamatory statements about the governor. They made an apology video to Governor Ganduje.
But the thing is, the video was made in 2018. It resurfaced online in 2022. Some people believe that the governor was bribing people with US dollars because of a video defaming the governor. But, he denied all accusations.
