Brittney Griner, a basketball star, is finally released from a Russian prison. President Joe Biden made a trade deal with Russia. He traded Viktor Bout, “Merchant of Death” for Griner.

Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport in February for possessing cannabis oil and last month sent to a penal colony.

The Biden administration proposed a prisoner exchange in July, aware Moscow had long sought Bout’s release.

Many people are very excited that Griner is coming home, safe and sound. The swap involved two private planes bringing the pair to Abu Dhabi airport from Moscow and Washington, and then flying them home. Griner’s teammates are joyful that their star came back.
